'The Gift of Barong (A Journey From Within)' directed by Benito Bautista.

Synopsis:

This film is about two generations of Filipino-American surfers from the Bay Area who traveled to the Philippines to immerse in the culture, surf the islands and rediscover themselves.

What started as an innocent participation in a Filipino town fiesta and an accidental viewing of one’s self in the mirror with the BARONG TAGALOG (a traditional Filipino shirt), resulted in the awakening of consciousness of one of the main characters.

This simple journey from within developed into a full-blown independent documentary film project that took two years to make.

This is a very important full feature contemporary documentary film. A must see film for the Filipino and Filipino-Americans and other ethnic communities. It shows the complexity of the social and emotional side of immigrants, and shows the courage and resolve of the few.

synopsis:

Eve: Beauty and the Blade is the brainchild of Director/Creator/Producer Ron Santiano with Executive Producer Chuck Stone—the same team that brought you the award winning film Wonder Woman: the Balance of Power and other notable Redcape Cinema productions.

The title role of “Eve” will be played by the alluring and talented Ia Villatuya (Metro, Mathilda). Eve's life
is forever altered when her parents vanish without a trace after being attacked by supernatural agents.
Growing up on the streets, Eve learns the art of self reliance.

When she runs into members of the mysterious “Order”—the same organization to which her parents bore allegiance—several unanswered questions from Eve's childhood reemerge. Why were her parents attacked? Who was their assailant? What is the source of her own supernatural powers?

In the same tradition as Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Dark Angel and Heroes, Eve offers a mixture of high-intensity action, suspense, romance, humor and intrigue that fans of the genre have come to demand
and expect.

Redcape Cinema invites you to join Eve on her journey of self-discovery and her battle against the supernaturally possessed agents of a hidden evil power. We invite you to join us for the drama,
the action, the twist and turns and all the excitement—all that is.... Eve.
