Rosencruz Sumera

Rosen was born in La Loma, Quezon City and immigrated to the US in 1967. He has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 53 years.

He took art courses in junior high, in senior high school, and later in college.

As a result of winning a nationwide “Draw-me” art contest, in 1971 he received an art scholarship in fine arts sponsored by Art Instruction Schools of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He also participated in the school’s art competition.

Rosen has an incredible eye for detail that is immediately conveyed to the viewer upon seeing any of his art creations.

Rosen does portraitures for clients throughout the Bay Area.

Artist's Statement

To grow and develop as an artist, it's important to expose oneself to many art forms, visit museums, study the artwork of old masters, and take lessons from new master art teachers.
