Yiying Lu is an award-winning artist, entrepreneur, global educator, and TEDx speaker. Named “Fast Company's Most Creative People in Business”, Yiying has created iconic art and campaigns for corporations from Disney to Apple and built brands for hundreds of tech startups as a creative director at 500 Startups. She is also the artist behind the Dumpling and Boba Tea Emoji, the “Twitter Fail Whale,” and the Chinese paper-cut style Mickey Mouse for Disneyland Shanghai. She runs her innovation studio in San Francisco and serves as a San Francisco Arts Commissioner. Her life purpose is to bridge the gap between Art & Tech, Business & Culture, Work & Life, and East & West.

Dear Community, I am writing to inform you of an important update regarding the 19th Annual Filipino American History Month Celebration, originally scheduled at San Francisco City Hall's Rotunda on Thursday, October 5. We find it necessary to postpone the event due to unforeseen circumstances. The decision to reschedule is out of respect for the memorial services and the celebration of life that will take place at City Hall on Thursday, October 5 for U.S. Senator and former San Francisco Mayor Dianne Feinstein. We recognize Senator Feinstein's significant impacts on shaping the history of our beloved city and her unwavering support for the Filipino community. In joining the nation to honor her legacy, it is appropriate to adjust our plans to allow for the proper remembrance and tribute. The new date for the 19th Annual Filipino American History Month Celebration is now set for Thursday, October 26, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We hope you will be able to join us on this rescheduled date as we come together to celebrate our shared heritage and the contributions of the Filipino community to the rich tapestry of San Francisco. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility during these challenging times. Please mark your calendar with the new date, and we look forward to your continued support as we honor Senator Dianne Feinstein and celebrate the vibrant history of Filipino Americans.
