HELLO! WE'RE BACK!

The Filipino American Arts Exposition (FAAE) is excited to announce its 29th annual Pistahan Parade and Festival with in-person festivities on Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14 from 11 am – 5 pm PT at the Yerba Buena Gardens, and via livestream on Facebook and YouTube. As we emerge from the pandemic, this year’s festival theme is “Homecoming: Reconnect with Our Roots and Community.”

Pistahan 2022 invites visual artists, artisans, performing artists, subject area experts, exhibitors, food trucks and members of the community to be a part of this year’s hybrid celebration of Filipino community, culture, and cuisine.

Pistahan welcomes interested parties from the San Francisco Bay Area and in the diaspora to participate in this year's program. Join our celebration if you are a:

  • Visual artist, chef, educator, or expert in your field: Whether it’s in arts, dance, innovation, sports, or other fields of endeavor, make your talent known by being featured in one of our cultural Pavilions: Art, Culinary, Dance, Health, Heritage, Innovation, Sports and Tavern. (deadline: FRI, 6/24)

  • Musician, singer, dancer or entertainer: We are currently booking performing artists, cultural dance companies, and entertainers of all genres. (deadline: FRI, 6/24)

  • Artisan, nonprofits or business owner: Promote your organization’s products and services as a booth exhibitor and in our virtual sari-sari marketplace. (deadline: FRI, 7/15)

  • Food truck: Join the inaugural Pistahan Food Truck Festival, showcasing the many flavors of Philippine and Asian cuisines by the best gourmet food trucks from the Bay Area. (deadline: FRI, 7/15)

  • Parade contingent: The Pistahan Parade is a celebration of our dynamic community with festive floats, lively community contingents and musical groups, marching down Market Street from Civic Center to the Yerba Buena. Get your group together and show your Pinoy pride, and join the Parade! (deadline: 7/15)

We are also calling for volunteers to support a variety of roles and responsibilities which will help make Pistahan the best cultural celebration it can be.

Dear Community, I am writing to inform you of an important update regarding the 19th Annual Filipino American History Month Celebration, originally scheduled at San Francisco City Hall's Rotunda on Thursday, October 5. We find it necessary to postpone the event due to unforeseen circumstances. The decision to reschedule is out of respect for the memorial services and the celebration of life that will take place at City Hall on Thursday, October 5 for U.S. Senator and former San Francisco Mayor Dianne Feinstein. We recognize Senator Feinstein's significant impacts on shaping the history of our beloved city and her unwavering support for the Filipino community. In joining the nation to honor her legacy, it is appropriate to adjust our plans to allow for the proper remembrance and tribute. The new date for the 19th Annual Filipino American History Month Celebration is now set for Thursday, October 26, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We hope you will be able to join us on this rescheduled date as we come together to celebrate our shared heritage and the contributions of the Filipino community to the rich tapestry of San Francisco. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility during these challenging times.
